Municipal (City) Courts
Municipal Court judges have jurisdiction over the misdemeanor criminal offenses committed within the city. Misdemeanors are the crimes for which six months of incarceration and/or a $1,000 fine have been established as the maximum punishment. More serious offenses committed within the city are handled in the state court system.
